Yesterday, Sunday September 28, 2025 Zone F2 held its annual Drumhead at the Grafton Cenotaph. The weather was perfect.
There were several Branch Colour parties that participated in the ceremony, as did the Cobourg Pipes and Drums, who have always performed the “Piling of the Drums” Ceremony perfectly. We had bugler Andrew Jourard and Piper Michael Beech who provided an excellent Cenotaph Service.
Guests included County of Northumberland Warden Brian Ostrander and Alnwick-Haldimand Township Mayor John Logel. Our Guest Speaker, Major General (R’etd) Scott Clancy gave a great speech on “you are what you defend”.
Zone F2 Chaplain Art King provided prayers, with assistance of the two Grafton Branch Chaplains, Rev Jean Wilson and Major Dan Broome, providing scripture and blessings during the Ceremony.
There were so many people involved with this event that all need to be thanked.
A special acknowledgement was made for Comrade Doreen Doucet, who was an active flag bearer in the Bewdley Legion Br 577 Colour Party. Doreen is a veteran and on her last birthday she celebrated a very active 93 years. Thank you Doreen for your service.
WE WILL REMEMBER THEM
