The Public Speaking Contest, part of the Legion’s Youth and Education program, is meant to give young people an opportunity to be comfortable speaking in public. The individual chooses their own subject matter for the address.
The contest progresses through zone, district and area levels, concluding at the Provincial level in May for each Category. The dates and locations for each level are indicated below.
The contestants are divided into four classes:
Grades 1 – 3
Grades 4 – 6
Grades 7 – 9
Grades 10 – 12
Register at 12 Noon. Speeches start at 1pm.
A small luncheon will be served.

Zone Public Speaking – Saturday March 7 – Grafton Legion Branch 580
District Public Speaking – Saturday March 28 – Location to be announced
Area F & G Public Speaking – Saturday April 18 – Norwood Legion Branch 300
Provincial Public Speaking – Saturday May 2 – Napanee Legion Branch 137
