Memorial Tournament March 20th, 2016

The Jean Jaynes, Eugene Tidd Dart Tournament along with the Jack Harnden crib tournament held on March 20th at the Grafton Legion was a very successful day. A total of $830.00 was raised which is divided between the lung and cancer societies.

Winners from both darts and crib handed back their winnings but got to take home painted beer mugs painted by Rhonda Purdy. There was a wonderful raffle table with donations from the Jaynes, Purdy’s, Tidd’s and Harnden families along with a 50/50.

Jessica Stewart and DJ Harnden took care of registration and keeping the scores, the ladies auxiliary cooked up wonderful home made food, and even put an apron on Jean’s son Wayne who BBQ’d burgers and also played darts!

All things went well and everything along with the generous donation from Art & Esther Brace helped to make our grand total.

Ten years ago Karen Jaynes and Al Tidd decided to start this tournament and up until now have raised between 8 to 9 thousand dollars which has gone to the two societies in memory of Mom and Dads.

Thank-you to all who helped and participated in our wonderful day and the Grafton Legion for donating the hall and Gerry Freymann for being such a good bartender.

Sincerely,

Karen Jaynes.
